Catherine first began painting and drawing wildlife in high school. In 2000 she began studies at the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating with a BFA in Illustration in 2004. While attending RISD Catherine had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of styles and techniques.
Since graduating Catherine has returned to wildlife painting. However, upon this return to a wildlife subject matter she chosen not to focus on the traditional, subject in environment setup, but to capture the essence and character of the subject. With every painting, her goal is to invoke a sense whimsy, fun and charm. There is nothing more rewarding than the smile on a viewer’s face.
Currently Catherine is working on websites and graphic design projects during the day and painting by night. When not painting she can be found Photoshopping Nic Cage as Everyone submissions & creating Flash games featuring unicorns and monkeys.
